How did this situation begin? It started when Madeline Murray O’Hare complained about allowing prayer in the nation’s schools. She said prayer should be prohibited. And we said, “OK.” ∞ Then someone said schools should prohibit reading the Bible – The Bible that says “Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,” and “love your neighbors as yourself.” And we said, “OK.” ∞
Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehaved because their personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem. And we said an expert should know what he’s talking about, so people stopped spanking their children. ∞ Then someone said teachers and principals shouldn’t be allowed to discipline children when they misbehave. School administrators across the country said faculty members are forbidden to touch misbehaving students to avoid bad publicity and lawsuits And we accepted their reasoning. ∞ Then the entertainment industry decided to make TV shows and movies that feature profanity, violence and illicit sex because of the great profit to be made. Music producers began producing recordings with themes that encourage rape, drugs, murder, suicide, anarchy, and other satanic concepts. Then video games featuring realistic warfare and crimes that numbed players’ attitudes and responses to violent acts and bloodshed became popular. And we said, it’s just entertainment and it has no proven adverse effect. ∞ Now we’re asking ourselves why our children grows up having no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, classmates, themselves...our little ones.
Thinking about it, God doesn’t have to explain Himself.
